What it is

A hole after M1L appears when the lifted strand is not twisted closed in the intended direction.

How Ruke patterns use it

Ruke patterns use M1L beside M1R for balanced shaping. Repeating an open M1L changes the raglan line from a subtle increase into an unwanted eyelet column.

When to use it

Use this guide when the left-leaning increase leaves a visible opening.

What to check

Check that the strand is lifted from front to back and knitted through the back loop according to the Ruke definition.

Common mistakes

Using the M1R entry, dropping the strand, or trying to hide the hole by pulling later stitches tight.
