What it is

Knitting in the round works stitches continuously around a circular piece without turning after each round.

How Ruke patterns use it

Ruke yokes, bodies, sleeves, necklines and accessories often use circular construction. The beginning-of-round marker becomes the reference for shaping and stitch counts.

When to use it

Use it when the pattern instructs you to join or continue working in rounds.

What to check

Check that the cast-on is not twisted, place the marker clearly and distinguish a round from a row.

Common mistakes

Losing the beginning of round, turning the work accidentally, or forgetting that stockinette is knitted every round.
