What it is

PFB increases one stitch by purling into the front and back of the same stitch.

How Ruke patterns use it

PFB is the purl-side partner of KFB. It is useful as a pattern-reading reference, but a Ruke instruction that names M1LP or M1RP requires that directional method instead.

When to use it

Use it when PFB is explicitly written in a wrong-side or purl-based section.

What to check

Check yarn position and keep the stitch on the needle until both purl actions are complete.

Common mistakes

Moving the yarn incorrectly between actions or losing the second stitch.
