KFB increases one stitch by knitting into the front and back of the same stitch.
How Ruke patterns use it
This increase creates a visible bar and belongs in Ruke Knowledge as a comparison with directional make-one increases. Do not replace M1R or M1L with KFB when the shaping line matters.
When to use it
Use it when the pattern says KFB or when a small visible bar is acceptable in the fabric.
What to check
Check that the original stitch stays on the needle until both new stitches are completed.
Common mistakes
Dropping the stitch after the first knit or treating the result as an invisible increase.
