M1RP makes one new purl stitch that leans to the right.
How Ruke patterns use it
Ruke pattern instructions use purl-side make-one increases where shaping must continue inside reverse stockinette, rib or a wrong-side row. It is directional and should not be collapsed into M1R.
Pattern notation examples
- Row 12 (RS) Sl1, k3, sm, M1L purl, purl to st marker, M1R purl, sm, k3, p last st. [Increased: 2 sts]
- Row 13 (WS) Sl1, p3, sm, M1R purl, purl to st marker, M1L purl, sm, p3, p last st. [Increased: 2 sts]
When to use it
Use it only where the pattern asks for a right-leaning purl increase.
What to check
Check which way the strand is lifted, how it is purled and the stitch count after the row.
Common mistakes
Working a knit increase instead, lifting the strand in the wrong direction, or leaving an open hole.
