Marine sweater knitting pattern

The Marine sweater is an easy-going striped knit worked from the top down in two colours. The yoke is worked flat in rows to gently shape the shoulder line and a soft V-neck, using M1R and M1L increases. The body and sleeves are then worked in the round for a seamless, comfortable finish, and the sleeves are picked up and worked once the body is complete. The hem and cuffs are worked in a Rib stitch pattern and carry the stripe sequence through to the edges, while the neckline is finished with a Stockinette band that rolls naturally into a soft, tube-like edge. This is a boldly oversized design - not just slightly relaxed, but generously, intentionally roomy - falling well beyond the body for a soft, enveloping drape. With its deeply oversized fit, the Marine sweater is a cosy everyday piece with a calm, maritime rhythm.
